9.15am Keynote Session: Navigating the 2H19 Outlook
Selena Ling, Head, Treasury Research & Strategy, Global Treasury - OCBC Bank

Amid lingering global trade tensions and weaker growth in China, the global economy is set to slow down further in 2019. Global monetary policy intentions have turned more accommodating in many countries, so the question is whether this would suffice to ward off a sharper slowdown in major economies like China. That said, the fairly benign and stable global/regional growth forecasts may not translate into financial market stability as investor confidence remains shaky. However, with the possibility of a pause or a slower pace of rate hikes for the Fed, there could be significant respite for Asian economies.

OCBC Bank Chief economist, Ms Selena Ling will share more on the market outlook in the second half of 2019 and how it will impact business, as well as how the Budget 2019 will support SMEs in their digitalisation, capability building and internationalisation journey.
